Atras quedaron los dias que Panama solo contaba con una cancha en su ciudad. El crecimiento economico pareciera que fuera de la mano con el incremento de canchas de golf en todo el pais.
Lugares como Boquete se convierte en uno de los mejores lugares para retirarse a nivel mundial por la vision de Sam Taliaferro, quien incluye en su proyecto una campo de golf. Iniciando asi una nueva actividad en la region y una nueva sociedad de golfistas de recidentes de David y pueblos alrededor.
Era de esperarse que en las playas del pacifico con nuevos proyectos hoteleros e inmobiliarios que mas campos fueran construidos. Siendo Coronado el pieonero con su campo disenado por Tom Fazio, considerado uno de los mejores del mundo . A este lo siguieron Decameron-mantarraya, Vista Mar, bijao, y proximamente buenaventura. Cada uno de estas con complejos hoteleros e inmobiliarios pensados cada una de estas en cumplir con standares de calidad de nivel internacional.
En el area de azuero contamos con la cancha de chitre, impulsada y mantenida por sus socios, y que cada dia mejora sus instalaciones como su campo de golf.
En la ciudad de Panama vemos que el club de golf de panama es una de las paradas del circuito Natiowide, Poniendo a Panama en el mapa como uno de los destinos internacionales del PGA. Las canchas de summit y Tucan son las ubicadas en la zona del canal y son ademas de muy divertidas y competitivas, de una gran aceptacion por parte de los entusiastas del golf. La ciudad sera casa de otra de las canchas del mas grande jugador de golf, Jack nickaus, quien disena El campo de santamaria.
Como podemos apreciar, ya panama es un destino de golf y se comentan que mas canchas seran construidas en los proximos anos. A continuacion una pequena resena de todas ellas.
